RESPONDER SKILL EVALUATIONS - ONGOING
Hey team! It's time for your annual skills evaluations! All responders must successfully complete a skills evaluation every year in order to volunteer with UTEFR (and at very fun partnership events with Odyssey Medical) as Event Medical staff. A skills assessment is intended to ensure that all Active Responders are able to competently perform first aid up to the level of their training. Although we acknowledge that many of you may have just recently completed a course, a skills assessment is still necessary to ensure all active responders meet requirements. Please use the link above to schedule a skills evaluation. We will be opening up many more slots, so don't worry if the available sessions do not work for you!

Please note that if you completed a skills evaluation before May 1, 2023, you need to complete another one for the 2023/24 term.

Lavender wild - june 4

Hey everyone! Odyssey Medical reached out to us for people to help out with their Festival Health team at the Lavender Wild festival on June 4. This is a great way to get introductory experience with patient interactions and seeing what event medical looks like on a much larger scale! If you don’t have experience, no worries as this will be less intense as the Festival Health team focuses on Harm Reduction and taking care of stable/low risk patients. BAYCREST RIDE - JUNE 4 (SIGN UP closed)

Hey team! Odyssey Medical reached out again to partner with them for one of their huge deployments! They are one of the biggest event medical companies in Canada, and they have requested our support at Baycrest Ride for Brain Health on June 4, 2023 from 5:30am-1:00pm. Events like these are great for getting some extra experience outside of UTEFR! As of now, anyone with a valid First Responder certification or higher and has completed a skills assessment is welcome to help out. It will potentially open up to those with any certification (stay tuned!) Please send JH a message on WhatsApp for more information!

electric island - may 20-21 (sign up closed)

Hey everyone! An urgent request from Odyssey Medical came in for May 20-21 for Electric Island! They are looking for a couple people to help out with their festival health team - This is a great way to get some introductory experience with patient interaction (it won’t be as intense as the medical team as you’re primarily working on their harm reduction program, taking care of stable/low risk patients) and seeing what event medical looks like on a much larger scale! sporting life 10k - may 14 (sign up closed)

Hey team! We are partnering with Odyssey Medical this year again! They are one of the biggest event medical companies in Canada, and they have requested our support at Sporting Life 10K on May 14, 2023 from 6:30am-12:00pm. Events like these are great for getting some extra experience outside of UTEFR! Anyone with a valid first aid certification and has completed a skills assessment is welcome to help out. SCIENCE RENDEZVOUS - MAY 13 (SIGN UP CLOSED)

Hey team, there is a coverage request for Science Rendezvous 2023! The date is May 13, 2023. It is supposed to be an all-day STEM festival held on St. George Street! Upwards of 30,000 people are expected to participate. Please fill out this availability form to indicate when you will be able to attend the event. Note that you must be available for the times you indicate. If your schedule changes, please let us know by April 30. Failure to do so may lead to a reconsideration of your status on the roster due to accountability issues. You must have completed a skills evaluation to attend this event.

2023-2024 executive elections - march 30

​Hey everyone, UTEFR is now accepting nominations for the 2023-2024 executive team! Please use the form below to nominate yourself. You may nominate yourself for a maximum of two positions. Voting will take place during our End of March training. This form is due Sunday, March 26, at 11:59pm. Please note this is solely for club executive positions only. Other positions (i.e. Executive Assistants/Trainers) will be available once the executives for next year have been selected.

​Hey folks! The last training session for the year will be held on Thursday March 30th in BA 2145! This will be more of a fun get-together where we will be playing games and holding the elections for exec! The timings are 7:00-9:00pm and I look forward to seeing everyone there - let me know if there are any questions :)

Skule nite 2t3 - march 11-18

​Hey peeps, we just received an urgent coverage request for Skule Night 2T3! It is supposed to be an Engineering Musical/Comedy Show, covering their rehearsals and shows! Please fill out this availability form to indicate when you will be able to attend the event. Note that you must be available for the times you indicate. FebruARY TRAINING - march 2

​Hey folks! Given that reading week took up the majority of February and that I didn’t want to schedule training for the first Monday back, we’ve decided to do our mandatory February training on Thursday, March 2nd! The training will be held from 7-9pm and we will be meeting in OISE 5230! There will be no prerequisite prep material for this training session so enjoy your breaks! As always, feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns :)
